In order to stave off the inevitable (mood altering medication), I have decided to join the masses of opinionated bloggers. The Blog Against Theocracy is the perfect place to start.
I have been receiving the emails of AU-Americans United, which has done amazing work in this area. The particular rant I am on has to do with taxes. Why do we continue to give religious institutions tax-exempt status. I believe that many of these so called religions would disappear if that was changed. Plus then they would truly be able to express their political opinion, since that is what they do anyway. True institutions would have to do more fund raising to pay taxes, but perhaps it is time for all organizations to get out of the "non-profit" game anyway. There has to be another way to protect the groups that are actually helping while sifting out the con artists.

The world is a crazy place, and it seems that Logic, or any variant there of, really, is lost in the continual noise of brain cells exploding. I can only think the causes of this are greed, brainwashing religion, and extreme self-centerness, oh, did I mention greed?
